For our first Primary activity of the year we wanted to do something easy so I suggested a drive in movie. Debbie liked the idea so she put me in charge of it. The Saturday before the activity Michael made a cardboard car as an example to motivate the kids to make their own cars. As an incentive I advertised special awards for the best cars. That Friday the kids showed up with their creations. They really knocked themselves out! Several cars had functioning headlights, working doors, cushy interiors, roll bars, real license plates. The most creative was a horse drawn buggy. Awesome! We watched the Veggie Tales Minnesota Cuke on the big screen projector which was a spoof on Indiana Jones teaching about obedience to God using the story of Samson. We had a brief lesson beforehand and then handed out bags of popcorn. At the end I let the kids derby around with their cars.
